About ENGIE North America and Geenex
Dolphin Solar is owned by ENGIE North America. The project is a collaborative effort between Geenex and ENGIE. Geenex, the original developer of Dolphin Solar, initiated the early-stage development activities including land acquisition, community outreach, and permitting groundwork. In early 2025, ENGIE acquired ownership of the Dolphin Solar project and retained Geenex for development services.
ENGIE and Geenex are working side-by-side to guide Dolphin Solar through the development and permitting process. While Geenex brings experience in greenfield solar development and strong local relationships, ENGIE contributes its global resources and technical expertise as a leading owner and operator of projects in the U.S., to support the success of Dolphin Solar.
This partnership reflects a joint commitment to delivering a responsible, community-focused energy project that aligns with local planning goals and regulatory requirements. Both companies remain actively engaged in working with Fountain County stakeholders to ensure the project is thoughtfully and transparently developed.
